Trading in Luxury for a Life of Purpose

In a tale of transformation, a young woman has shed her life of luxury in Dubai to pursue her true passion – helping others live healthy lives. Laura Davies, a 25-year-old from New Brighton, traded in the glamour of the United Arab Emirates for a simpler life in the UK, where she has found her calling as the new owner of Benno Box, a healthy meal company.
After several years working as a cabin crew member for Emirates Airlines, Laura returned to her hometown, eager to reconnect with family and friends. It was during her time in Dubai that she developed a newfound appreciation for nutrition and healthy eating, which ultimately led her to Benno Box.
Founded in 2020 by Andrew Kelly, a South Liverpool resident, the company offers high-protein meals, oat pots, and snacks to over 2,000 customers. However, when Andrew decided to relocate to America to pursue his running career, Laura saw an opportunity to take the reins and make her dream a reality.
A Life-Changing Experience
Laura’s experience working for Emirates Airlines was a transformative one. As she traveled the world, she was exposed to diverse cultures and flavors, which opened her eyes to the importance of wholesome ingredients and fresh cooking. Her time in Dubai also taught her the value of convenience food, which she had previously relied on.
However, it was the experience of living in a foreign country that ultimately led her to Benno Box. “I went from choosing convenience food to learning how to cook with fresh, wholesome ingredients, especially vegetables,” she said. “That’s why finding Benno Box was such a game changer for me, and now I’m all about making nutrition easy and enjoyable for others.”
Returning to the UK was a culture shock for Laura, who found it difficult to adjust to life back home. “Dubai and Liverpool are worlds apart,” she said. “It’s been so good to reconnect with family and friends and help people live healthy lives. It’s like I’ve found my calling in life.”
Andrew Kelly, the founder of Benno Box, also had a transformative experience. He had struggled with addiction and had made a promise to himself to stop drinking on New Year’s Eve in 2019. His decision to give up alcohol had a profound impact on his life, allowing him to focus on his running and develop a newfound passion for nutrition.
A New Beginning
Today, Laura is dedicated to helping others live healthy lives through Benno Box. Her journey is a testament to the power of self-discovery and the importance of following one’s passion. As she looks to the future, she is excited to continue making a positive impact on her community.
“I’m not the same person I was a few years ago,” she said. “I’ve found my purpose, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives.”
