A 24-year-old woman died at a property in Hayes, while a second victim was taken for treatment and a 44-year-old suspect was arrested nearby.

LONDON — A murder investigation has been launched after a 24-year-old woman was fatally stabbed and a man in his 20s was injured at a property in west London on Sunday morning.

Metropolitan Police officers and paramedics were called to an address on Uxbridge Road in Hayes at approximately 7.55 a.m. on July 12 following reports of a stabbing.

Emergency services found the young woman suffering from stab injuries inside the property. Despite attempts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity had not been publicly released at the time of the initial police statement.

A man aged in his 20s was discovered outside the building with stab wounds. He received medical treatment, although police said they were still awaiting confirmation of the seriousness of his condition.

Officers searching the surrounding area located a 44-year-old man who matched the description of the suspected attacker. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

The suspect was subsequently taken to hospital with injuries that police believe were sustained when he jumped from a window. No further details about his condition were immediately provided.
